Welcome to our Blog! As a first time 'blogger' I'm very excited to be writing our first post, and look forward to keeping you all up to date on what is happening in store!
We have a had an extremely busy first week up at Mt Barker! Our Grand Opening was huge, with hundreds of ladies coming to visit, so we were just thrilled! This week has also been very busy, with lots more new customers coming to have a look around and some lovely familiar faces from Magill making the trip to see us also. We had a great day on Wednesday with stage 2 of the Tour Down Under passing right by the shop! The Mt Barker Council provided us with baloons and streamers so we had a ball decorating the varandah and then sitting our with a home-made sausage roll to watch the bikes go past! We managed to snap a few pictures so I'll have to get them online soon!
We are firm believers that quilting is an extremely social hobby, which is why we are incorporating a members section to our website! Technical jargon withstanding (I am a quilter...not a computer expert! :P) we hope to have our 'Quiltaholics Club' (or Quiltaholics Anonymous as I like to call it!) up and running soon!
As you may have noticed, our website is very new and is still a work in progress. So if you notice any problems, please let us know through any of the contact methods outlined on the website and we will do our best to fix them ASAP.
Now on the the exciting stuff...fabric!!
We have just unpacked a new shipment of baby flannel: 'Duck Duck Goose'! It is just gorgeous! There are 6 different prints, appropriate colours for boys or girls, and they are just so cute! Plus, the flannel is beautiful and soft, so perfect for a winter baby! We also have a pattern idea for these fabrics in our quilt gallery: a change table quilt or new-born cot quilt!
Also new in store is Leesa Chandler's 'Anastasia', a stunning range in multiple colour-ways with strong, bold colours and gold highlights. New William Morris from Babara Brackman and Michelle Hill is also in, you can read more about all of these in our latest newsletter, the 'Fat Quarter' available on our newsletter page.
Our latest class list is also available in our newsletter. There are lots of great workshops on offer including needleturn applique, a bag class and sit and sew days. Our beginners machine quilting class is now fully booked, but if you are still interested in doing the class just let us know and we will put your details on our waiting list as we will definitely be running another one soon.
Anyway, that is all from me for now, my Blueberry muffins are ready to come out of the oven! But have a look around the website and we look forward to seeing from you next time you're up our way!
